You may have noticed a few subtle changes in the site already. Well, these are due to my putting aside my own blog software and switching to WordPress for my main blog.
There are a number of reasons why I did, but mostly it had to do with having a user registration system as well as user comments. I was intending to add those features to my own blog package, but let’s face it — it’s time consuming, and after staring into a computer screen for 8 hours a day as part of my day job I just don’t have the energy to devote another 4-5 hours a night to the project, especially when other people have done the work and let me use it for free.
Also the archive system is much better than what I could come up with. I am currently in the process of adding more snarky comments to the older link entries; only 1200+ entries to go!
