Intel behind the recent terror alert for NYC & DC actually dates back to 4 years. Not only that, it was known in June but kept under wraps. I guess the DHS just wanted to have a more opportune time to let the bogeyman out, say right after the Democratic National Convention. Not that politics are playing a part, of course not.
